About the role
The Industrial Mechanic Technician 1 position at IP is a full-time night shift role located at Sealy, TX. This position offers a sign-on bonus of $1,000 after 30 days, $500 after 6 months, and $500 after 1 year, with an additional bonus at 2 years. There is also a retention bonus of $500 after 1 year.
Responsibilities
- Utilize mechanical skills and knowledge (pneumatics, hydraulics, bearing, power transmission, lubrication)
- Work with PLCs, A/C, motors and drives, and understand schematics in a continuous process manufacturing environment
- Engage in preventative maintenance processes in assigned areas
- Communicate effectively with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot and solve problems
- Participate in safety, attendance, and quality of work initiatives
- Willing to cross-train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities
- Work flexible shifts and weekends as required
- Lift average weighted materials, 50 lbs up to 70 lbs, occasionally
Requirements
- 3 years’ experience in industrial maintenance
- Basic knowledge of PLCs, A/C, motors and drives, schematics, bearing, power transmission, lubrication, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Basic tool knowledge
- Ability to read blueprints and basic computer skills
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and climb frequently
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Able to work varied hours/day
Qualifications
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of mobile equipment (forklifts and boom lift)
- Ability to work with computer systems for maintenance processes and work orders
Skills
