Maintenance Generalist All Shifts - Full-Time - St. Joseph Plant 64507

Earn up to a $5,000 retention bonus: $2,500 at 90 days and $2,500 at one year. Must successfully complete the time increments to be eligible.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, including lubricating moving components, adjusting parts, rebuilding equipment, completing scheduled service, and assisting operators with changeovers.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment at all times.
• Conduct daily equipment examinations to identify wear, defects, or damage; repair industrial equipment to ensure proper working order.
• Record all maintenance and repair services, tracking materials and parts used.
• Follow plant safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) specifications.
• Study manufacturer manuals, blueprints, and follow directions for operating or setting up machinery and repairs.
• Attend on-site and off-site training as needed.
• Notify leadership when inventory of materials or parts is low or depleted.

Requirements

• 6 months of maintenance experience in any field, or 3 months of maintenance experience with a technical maintenance diploma or enrollment in a technical school/program.
• Willingness to stand, sit, bend, walk, stretch, climb, push, pull, kneel, squat, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 20–70 pounds.
• Willingness to work in extreme temperatures (10°F below zero to 105°F), damp environments, and on slippery surfaces.
• Basic computer skills for training and task completion.
• Ability to identify parts and supplies needed for job tasks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for training and team collaboration.
• Ability to read and understand manuals, instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
• Willingness to walk on hard surfaces for up to 12 hours.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Self-starter with a sense of urgency and entrepreneurial spirit.

Candidates previously employed by Tyson must wait 180 days before rehire and are limited to 3 employment terms. Background checks may be required for certain roles.

Schedule

All shifts available (United States). Overtime and weekend work may be required.
