Maintenance Generalist (A Shift) - Berry St Plant
Job Description
Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction.
Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.
Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations.
Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
Complete appropriate paperwork and reports
Must comply with lockout/tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs.
Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.
Able to start all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision.
Able to assist with other mechanics as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity.
The positions physical requirements will include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds.
Lifting will also be required and depending on department could be up to 70lbs.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an industrial maintenance program (proof of enrollment required)
- or have 6 months of experience working in an industrial maintenance or 1 year of classroom training from technical college (proof of training with passing grade required)
- or must have graduated from a technical college with a certification in Electronics technology or industrial maintenance technology.
- Industrial maintenance will be considered work as a fabricator, electrician, or plant maintenance listed on the application.
