About the role

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Preventively maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, replaces and alters defective equipment
  • Provides maintenance on complex production equipment
  • Responsible for controlling inventory and requisitioning appropriate parts
  • Performs maintenance checks on buildings and equipment
  • Maintains electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Operate industrial equipment (skyjack, forklift)
  • Complies with company safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Performs general equipment repair and installation of safety equipment when necessary
  • Teams with production staff to encourage proper use and care of all equipment
  • Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area
  • Follow all required work safe practices including lockout-tag out requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
  • Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements
  • Must be willing to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds
  • Effectively work in a team environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience or 6 months of formal training in at least two of the following mechanical areas: Mechanical Trouble Shooting, Electrical Trouble Shooting, Hydraulic Trouble Shooting, PLC Controls, Three Phase Wiring, Plumbing, Conveyor Maintenance, Pneumatic Systems (excluding Building Maintenance)
  • Must list detailed job experience related to work history, skills, and education information on application

  • Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems and independently take appropriate corrective action to prevent component failures or equipment down time
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Pay & Schedule

  • Pay Range: $27.70 per hour
  • Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 1:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday (2nd Shift)
  • New hires earn up to a $5,000 Sign On Bonus ($1,000 upon completion of first week; $1,000 at 90 days; $1,500 at the 6-month mark; $1,500 at the one-year mark). Current Tyson Team Members and rehires are not eligible.
