Maintenance General

Contract position supporting the Chelmsford microelectronics manufacturing site and additional buildings as needed. Shift is Monday–Thursday, 2:30 PM–1:00 AM.

About the role

The 2nd-Shift Facility Maintenance Technician provides general upkeep and basic repairs for plant and office facilities, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing tasks. Responsibilities include following work orders, conducting inspections, logging completed work, and offering limited janitorial support (e.g., trash removal, floor cleaning) when workload permits.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine facilities maintenance and basic equipment troubleshooting.
• Handle electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing repairs.
• Follow work orders and general instructions to complete tasks.
• Conduct inspections and log completed work.
• Provide limited janitorial support, such as trash removal and floor cleaning, as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (trade certification or 1–2 years of hands-on maintenance experience preferred).
• 2+ years of maintenance, facilities, or general maintenance experience.
• Proficiency with hand/power tools and basic electrical/mechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with strong problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces with prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.
• Must obtain an interim secret security clearance to start; ability to obtain full clearance is required.
• Steel-toe shoes are required; all other PPE will be provided.

Pay

$32.93 per hour, with overtime at 1.5× rate after 40 hours.

Schedule

• Monday–Thursday, 2:30 PM–1:00 AM (4×10-hour shifts).
• Full-time, onsite role.
