Maintenance Facilities Technician

General Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of campus buildings, including dormitories, classrooms, dining facilities, and common areas
• Troubleshoot and assist with basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical issues to ensure reliable building systems
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules
• Repair or replace fixtures, lighting, outlets, plumbing components, and equipment as needed
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls, including those affecting student housing
• Afford assistance with after hours or emergency maintenance situations when required
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, or potential hazards
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in a safe and organized condition
• Coordinate work with other maintenance team members and outside contractors

Other Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous maintenance/facilities experience preferred
• General working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Legal authorization to work in the US
• Suitable background check result and fingerprinting required
• Drug test, physical, Adult CPR/AED/Standard First Aid certified or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Ability to safely physically navigate and perform work at a large campus and affiliated property locations
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools, machinery and equipment, lift and carry weight up to 50lbs, stand, bend, kneel, walk, and climb
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Valid driver's license
