Maintenance Fabricator I
Overview
The Maintenance Fabricator is responsible for performing high-quality fabrication, welding, and mechanical repair work to support plant maintenance operations. This position ensures equipment reliability through skilled craftsmanship, adherence to safety standards, and precision fabrication practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Two-year technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience: 5–8 years of combined mechanical, welding, and fabrication experience. Foundry maintenance experience preferred.
- Skills: High mechanical aptitude with the ability to use various hand and power tools. Demonstrated precision work within tight tolerances. Basic understanding of electrical principles. Proficient in assigned welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc). Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, including weld symbols. Knowledge of wire and filler materials for various alloys (steel, aluminum, etc.). Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters (amps, volts, etc.). Experience using conventional and precision measuring instruments. Proficient in welding equipment maintenance and finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.

- Standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, and stooping
- Lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 75 lbs
- Occasionally: Overhead work, Climbing ladders or stairs, Operating forklifts and cranes
