Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Affords assistance in setting up special events.
- Participates in and assists with maintenance activities, including cleaning, mopping, washing and waxing floors, shampooing carpets, painting walls and fixtures, repairing lights, and moving furniture for special events.
- Performs grounds maintenance tasks such as cutting grass, edging, mowing, and painting walls and fixtures.
Knowledge & Competencies
- Knowledge of general building and grounds maintenance functions.
- Knowledge of special event coordination, including setting up tents, tables, and chairs.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.
- Majority of work performed outside or with exposure to risk.
- Exerting up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
Work Environment/Conditions and Physical Demands
- Office or similar indoor environment, relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards.
- Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.
- Occasional outside work.
- Majors of work performed outside or with exposure to risk.
- Exerting up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least three (3) months of general maintenance work experience.
- Valid Texas Identification card or Government Issued card at the time of job offer and hire.
- Reliable form of transportation to and from work site and is expected to arrive at work site on a timely basis.
Additional Information
- Must be a current regular full-time or part-time City of Laredo employee.
- Must have at least three (3) months of experience in general maintenance work.
- Must be aware and understand that the position is a part-time/temporary position without benefits.
