About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Engineer II to join our hotel team. In this role, you will help maintain the hotel's guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, restaurant, and grounds by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and completing repairs. The ideal candidate has experience in general building maintenance and takes pride in providing a safe, comfortable environment for guests and team members.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public spaces, kitchen, laundry, and mechanical areas.
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and complete work orders with a strong focus on customer service.
- Maintain hotel equipment, tools, and facilities in safe working condition.
- Complete painting, drywall, carpentry, and general building repairs as needed.
- Maintain the pool, spa, water treatment systems, and exterior grounds.
- Conduct routine inspections and document completed maintenance activities.
- Assist with renovation projects and capital improvements.
- Follow all company safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, and comply with OSHA and brand standards.
- Maintain maintenance inventory and communicate repair needs to the Chief Engineer.
- Support and mentor less experienced engineering team members when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) or more years of maintenance experience in hospitality, commercial, or residential facilities.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair building equipment and systems.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hotel or hospitality maintenance experience.
- HVAC, EPA, or other skilled trade certifications.
- Experience with preventive maintenance software.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or willingness to obtain.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in mechanical spaces.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Safely operate hand and power tools.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Be available to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and emergency call-ins as needed.

Schedule
The hotel functions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must acknowledge and understand this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to move an associate from their accustomed shift as business dictates.
