Maintenance Engineer - Class 2 | General Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Take water samples of boiler, loop, and cooling tower systems and treat the water to maintain predetermined levels of chemical concentration.
• Operate various equipment, maintaining temperatures throughout the building.
• Make repairs to guest room and public spaces as necessary, including kitchen, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing repairs.
• Perform cleaning and general maintenance duties in the engineering spaces.
• Respond and attend to guest room repair requests.
• Repair plumbing problems such as unclogging drains, plunging/repairing toilets, leaking spigots, faucets, pipe valves, and related equipment.
• Maintain preventive maintenance with tools on laundry and kitchen equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, filter changes, belt adjustment, etc.
• Order necessary tools and equipment; maintain necessary stock items.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Must possess painting, basic plumbing, basic electrical, minor carpentry, lighting, and computer skills.
• Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
• Must have prior building maintenance experience and/or relevant technical training.
• Must be knowledgeable about using hand tools, power tools, and trade tools.
• Must have a working knowledge of general maintenance and repairs in at least one building trade.
• Must be familiar with OSHA Safety regulations.
• The ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.
• The ability to crawl for short periods of time.
• The ability to bend, reach overhead, squat, kneel for extended periods of time.
• The ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20 - $25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The shift is a PM Shift, which operates from approximately 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM.
