Join our team at the Country Inn & Suites Seattle / Bothell as a Maintenance Engineer and help maintain our hotel's customer and heart-of-house areas to brand standards through preventative maintenance and repairs.
Pay
Hourly wage of $25.00.
Schedule
Part-time position, approximately 16 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Respond to both customer and hotel staff reports of non-functioning equipment immediately.
- Maintain a problem logbook to record equipment in need of repair and prioritize efforts accordingly.
- Report any hazards or injuries in the department or hotel and take immediate action to correct.
- Maintain rooms in operating condition by performing repairs as needed.
- Understand and manage the Room Preventative Maintenance Program (R.P.M.).
- Manage full building systems during the shift.
- Prepare preventative maintenance cart for use each day.
- Replace or repair all appliances and damaged bathroom fixtures; execute general plumbing as needed.
- Maintain overall appearance of rooms; replace broken mirrors, hang fixtures, do touch-up painting, etc.
- Repair and maintain rooms' heating/ventilating/air conditioning systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
- Maintain the condition of hotel lobbies and restaurants.
- Repair furniture, carpet, marble, tile, windows, mirrors, and decorations as necessary.
- Maintain operating equipment in working condition by performing routine equipment checks and repairs.
- Attend schools or seminars to remain current on proper techniques.
- Create 100% guest satisfaction by providing genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations.
- Give personal attention, take personal responsibility, and use teamwork when providing guest service.
- Listen, apologize with empathy, find solutions, and follow through when resolving guest problems.
- Assume responsibility to notice when a guest is not satisfied and use best judgment for appropriate resolution.
- Perform other duties as required to provide genuine hospitality.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of general facility maintenance experience, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Commitment to exceptional guest service.
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude in all situations.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of the hotel.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends.
- Working knowledge of computer and math skills.
- Experience in pool maintenance, HVAC units, plumbing, and electrical work is beneficial.
- Certifications for HVAC and CPO preferred.
Physical Demands
- Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to hear with 100% accuracy with correction.
- Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for an eight-hour shift.
- Ability to lift, pull, push up to 100 pounds on an ongoing basis.
- Must be able to squat, bend, kneel, and twist on an ongoing basis.
