Maintenance Electrician IV
About the Role
Fermilab is seeking a Maintenance Electrician IV to join the Infrastructure Services Division (ISD). Under direct supervision, this role involves performing journeyman-level predictive, preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems including electrical distribution systems of all voltages up to 13.8 KV, motors up to 1000 horsepower, emergency generators, and HVAC systems and equipment in a 24/7 maintenance operation.
Responsibilities
- Responds, troubleshoots, and completes service work orders by repairing, rebuilding, maintaining, servicing, and operating electrical distribution systems, Motor Control Centers (MCC), motors, emergency generators, lighting and heating, ventilation, and air condition (HVAC) systems.
- Performs programmed, preventive and predictive maintenance via work orders on electrical distribution systems, MCC, motors, emergency generators, lighting and HVAC systems.
- Performs routine operational maintenance work orders on electrical distribution systems, motors, emergency generators, lighting, and HVAC systems.
- Recommends improvements in operations of maintenance and repairs of electrical systems.
- Completes emergency equipment repair work orders on electrical distribution systems, motors, emergency generators, lighting, and HVAC systems.
- Documents work activities for utilization in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Attends all necessary Environmental Safety & Health and Facilities Engineering Services Section (FESS) training as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma and 5+ years of electrical maintenance experience.
- Applicable knowledge, skills, and abilities required, including basic knowledge of electrical systems and safety procedures.
- May be required to legally operate a government vehicle.

Pay
The expected hiring range for this position is: $42.90-$44.52. Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such the scope and responsibilities of the position, qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
