Maintenance Electrician
The Maintenance Electrician keeps equipment and facilities in compliance with regulatory standards and in good working order. Repairs, installations, and scheduled maintenance are performed on building utility systems, production utilities, lab spaces, office areas, building & utility monitoring systems, and more. Assignments may be moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in solving problems and making recommendations.
What this job involves
- Maintains generators, VFD’s, UPS systems as well as building and or Utility Plant support equipment like AHU’s, Chillers, Boilers, hot water heaters, pumps, valves and other electrical related equipment.
- Aid in support/execution of Site power outages and Major Switchgear Maintenance events.
- Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required.
- Aid in the installation and repair of single and three phase motors (single & two speed).
- Run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc.
- Willingness to change lightbulbs and ballasts as needed.
- Communicate and work in teams.
- Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Has a clear understanding of how to troubleshoot electrical systems and the voltages that might be present?
- Is familiar with LOTO and maintains a clean and safe workplace.
Required Qualifications
- A High School diploma, state equivalent, or GED equivalent.
- 4+ years of related trade schooling or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Team player-works well with others.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Able to regularly lift items up to 50lbs.
- Physically able to operate electric hand tools, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment, and operate a motor vehicle.
- Able to work in close places such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc.
- Able to work on a ladders and scissor/man lifts.
- Able to work on roofs of buildings – able to safely perform overhead work.
Location
Onsite - Thousand Oaks, CA.
Work Shift
Monday to Friday 5:00 am - 1:30pm + OT based on business needs.
Salary/Comp
$40 - $42 per hour + x1.5 OT compensation.
