Maintenance Electrical Technician

About the role

The Electrical Maintenance Technician supports the Maintenance Team in troubleshooting, repairing, and improving all processes and equipment. They respond to emergency requests for repairs/replacements, including fire system malfunctions, and inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.

Responsibilities

• Follows applicable codes and regulations on work performed.
• Troubleshoot equipment through the use of PLC Programs, manuals, and diagrams as necessary.
• Responds to emergency requests for repairs/replacements, including fire system malfunctions which may be reported during off-hours.
• Troubleshoots all malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate and remedy the breakdown or malfunction.
• Install, modifies, and relocates machinery and equipment and will perform other maintenance tasks in addition to electrical-related work.
• Repairs and maintains various production machinery and equipment, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and parts.
• Reads and interprets PLC programs, manuals, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and other written installation and repair instructions.
• Performs routine inspections, breakdown maintenance, and preventative maintenance of all plant equipment.
• Document all work completed on MP2 work orders.
• Maintain specified records, logs, and system readings.
• Uses various measuring and testing equipment to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Uses a wide range of shop, hand, and power tools common to the various trades applied.
• Maintains specified records, logs, and system readings.
• Possesses knowledge of mechanical blueprint reading.
• Ensures compliance to code.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance or a related field.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including PLC programming.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Skills

• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
