Maintenance Director
About the role
The Maintenance Director at MBK Senior Living is responsible for leading and mentoring the Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Laundry teams to ensure the community’s physical plant is meticulously maintained and compliant with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-call point of contact for after-hour emergencies.
- Develop and implement comprehensive environmental, maintenance, and safety strategies.
- Manage the department budget, oversee operations, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist maintenance team members and assume responsibilities when needed.
- Coordinate resident maintenance requests and manage outside vendors and contractors.
- Prepare vacant apartments for move-in and conduct fire drills.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment and promote teamwork and open communication.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two years of college education or trade school training in environmental services, maintenance, or related trades.
- Minimum of five years of hands-on, prior-related work experience in a healthcare, residential, or similar community setting.
- Experience with building automation and systems, including plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, boilers, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic controls.
- Five years of supervisory or lead experience in the building industry, including maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, and structural matters.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental codes, protocols, and regulations, including hazardous materials handling and asbestos management.
- Expertise in workplace safety practices and ability to assess and respond effectively to emergencies.
- General knowledge of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and related trades.
- Familiarity with housekeeping, laundry, landscaping, and maintenance operations.
- Knowledge of fire life/safety systems and emergency generators systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Qualifications
- Ages 18 or older.
- Completed required background clearance, health screening, and provided negative TB test results within 7 days of employment (within the last 6 months).
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and reliable method of transportation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak, write, and read English effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and office equipment.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and transport passengers safely.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to make sound, independent decisions and manage conflicts and stressful situations.
- Willingness to support flexible schedules on short notice, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 250 pounds, as necessary.

Pay
$34 - $38 per hour.
Schedule
Full time, Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm.
