Maintenance Department Manager

About the role

At Niagara, we're seeking a Maintenance Department Manager to lead our team in maintaining and improving our injection molding, blow molding, and packaging equipment. The ideal candidate will oversee maintenance activities, collaborate with production managers, and build a strong team to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversees maintenance of injection molding, blow molding, and packaging equipment.
• Schedules and coordinates preventative maintenance activities.
• Collaborates with the Production Manager to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
• Builds and manages a world-class mechanical and preventative maintenance team.
• Hires, trains, and reviews the performance of employees.
• Works with HR for disciplinary actions, terminations, and recruitment.
• Oversees safety team activities and enforces safety protocols.
• Maintains accurate time and maintenance records.
• Develops and justifies capital equipment purchases to improve quality, cost, and cycle times.
• Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
• Solves work problems and assists workers in resolving issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in the position.
• Minimum 4 years of experience managing people and projects.

Competencies

• Handles basic issues and refers more complex ones to higher-level staff.
• Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
• Strong verbal, writing, and presentation skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Intermediate knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
