About the role
You will assume basic tasks relating to production machines and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on equipment. This position is responsible for observing equipment to provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor as needed.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, providing feedback and ideas before any implementation of controls changes (e.g., wiring changes, programming changes, or part change-out such as VFD, servo motors).
- Observe functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems, and the need for service.
- Learn the skills required to navigate PLC programming.
- Work efficiently with the work order system (EAM) to document repairs and preventive maintenance throughout the plant.
- Trace problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
- Maintain backups of programs from all electrical devices.
- Properly use a digital multimeter.
- Assist with troubleshooting electrical problems alongside maintenance.
- Concisely and accurately document set-points and parameters for equipment.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in a closely related role is required.
- Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
- Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
- Experience with Enterprise Asset Management software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
