Maintenance Building Custodian (Kaufman)

About the role

Maintains cleaning the building and grounds of property.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 to 2 years’ related work experience preferred
• Possession of maintenance experience preferred

• Basic industrial maintenance and safety knowledge
• Knowledge of maintenance equipment
• Knowledge and understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and requirements
• Ability to be a self-starter with effective organizational skills
• Skill in effectively managing deadlines with conflicting priorities
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate attention to detail and flexibility
• Successfully pass a background check, including criminal history, drug screen, physical, audiogram, and vision test

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting, resolution, and repair of a variety of maintenance-related duties
• Clean and supply restrooms, including washing and sanitizing toilets, sinks, and mirrors; removing trash; and restocking disposables
• Service breakrooms and conference rooms, front lobby and offices at both site facilities (shop and main building)
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and/or vacuuming
• Gather and empty facility trash into the facility dumpster
• Maintain a current inventory of all cleaning and maintenance materials
• Assist in performing inspection and extensive cleaning of all production equipment, engineering equipment, special projects equipment, and office equipment
• Assist in performing minor plumbing repairs (sinks, toilets, water heaters, and supply lines) with oversight and direction from the maintenance supervisor and provided that the employee has completed the necessary training
• Maintain a clean and organized tool room and maintenance supplies
• Ensure each work area is properly clean and items appropriately stored
• Assist with set-up for special events
• Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

• Full-time shop exposure
• Extreme temperatures (sometimes due to season)
• No travel requirements
• Perform work standing up for 8–10 hours per day and up to 6 days a week
• Good vision, hearing, smell, and balance
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
• Regularly stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel, as well as climb stairs and ladders

Shift: Monday–Friday and Saturdays as needed, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

Hours per week: 40–55
