Maintenance Associate I - Nights

About the Role

We are seeking a Maintenance Associate with experience working with Davis Standard and TSL equipment, Allen Bradley, and Siemens systems. The ideal candidate will have basic problem-solving skills and technical mechanical aptitude. This position operates on a 2-2-3 schedule from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Responsibilities

• Perform all machine maintenance, including preventative maintenance and tier 1 repair of production equipment, utilities, and facilities.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform work in accordance with established safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Communicate problems encountered during shifts and report carry-over items at tier 1 meetings.
• Operate equipment such as fork trucks, man-lifts, and elevated work platforms.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Technical Engineering team.

Mechanical Duties

• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of mechanical devices and apparatus with advanced skills in maintenance and repair.
• Diagnose problems by examining mechanical equipment.
• Disassemble, repair, replace, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, including motors, conveyors, pumps, belts, and chains.
• Clean, lubricate, and adjust equipment as needed.
• Read mechanical prints and technical data during installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
• Interpret PI&D drawings (a plus).
• Perform minor machine work or welding for part repairs when needed.
• Use precision measuring tools, hand tools, and testing instruments.
• Inspect all completed work and notify personnel upon job completion.

Electrical Duties

• Assist with major and minor electrical repairs, including 480V 3-phase motor repairs/installation, motor starter circuit repairs, VFD drives, photo-optic sensing devices, proximity switches, E-Stop circuitry, and ground fault detection in accordance with Pactiv’s “Electrical Safety Program”.

Requirements

• High degree of mechanical ability and aptitude with proven troubleshooting and repair skills for electro-mechanical equipment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to perform simple calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and apply mathematical reasoning.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
• Capability to assist in training others to improve their skill sets.

Pay

Pay range is $29.93 to $41.02 per hour, paid weekly.
