Responsibilities
- Aid in the general operational maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the Community’s physical plant.
- Communicate and help coordinate necessary tasks to accomplish repairs and alterations to buildings and equipment systems.
- Perform general maintenance work (light, electrical, painting, carpentry, etc.) and demonstrate excellent mechanical skills.
- Understand HVAC and may be asked to operate and/or maintain equipment.
- Replenish and maintain supply levels in work areas.
- Assure all tools, work areas, and equipment are clean, in proper working order, and properly stored.
- Ensure the Community environment and all equipment are properly maintained for resident comfort and convenience.
- Maintain and repair assigned equipment and report any hazardous conditions.
- Conduct daily inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to determine necessary maintenance and repairs.
- Help maintain a preventative maintenance log on all mechanical systems.
- Establish and manage a preventative maintenance schedule.
- Maintain an effective work-order system procedure.
- Participate in in-service training.
- Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent Resident care information.
- Weekly submit invoices and spend-down report to Environmental Services Director.
- Maintain a clean and orderly laundry room and store chemicals in accordance with product and Environmental Services Director instructions.
- Ensure adherence to safety rules and regulations.
- Report on-the-job injuries to the Environmental Services Director before the end of the work shift.
- Communicate effectively with Environmental Services Director and other team members.
Qualifications
- Possess a High School Diploma.
- Knowledgeable about maintenance and housekeeping policies and procedures, as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance functions in the Community.
- Understand practices surrounding proper handling of biohazardous waste.
- Demonstrate competency in the performance of duties and responsibilities through the utilization of sound judgment and the reporting of unusual problems/conditions to the Environmental Services Director.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License, preferably a Commercial Driver’s License.
- Able to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Able to effectively write simple correspondence.
- Basic familiarity with computers.
- Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other team members.
- Physically able to bend and reach, push and pull, and lift up to 60 pounds if necessary.
- Physically able to stand for extended periods of time.
