Responsibilities
- Perform routine building maintenance and preventative maintenance throughout the facility.
- Complete daily maintenance work orders using the TELS maintenance system.
- Conduct daily rounds of the building to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs.
- Conduct scheduled safety inspections and weekly walkthroughs of high-risk areas.
- Aid with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and general building repairs.
- Replace light bulbs, troubleshoot lighting issues, adjust room temperatures, and reset circuit breakers as needed.
- Assist with HVAC, mechanical, and electrical equipment maintenance to ensure safe operation.
- Help with nurse call system checks and minor equipment repairs.
- Prepare resident rooms for admissions by completing maintenance repairs and room setup.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Keep maintenance supplies organized and stocked.
- Report major maintenance concerns or equipment failures to the Plant Supervisor.
- Work closely with housekeeping and laundry departments to maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in maintenance, facilities maintenance, apartment maintenance, hotel maintenance, industrial maintenance, or building maintenance preferred.
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility, nursing home, hospital, rehabilitation center, or long-term care setting is a plus, but not required.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and general repairs.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment throughout the facility.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable with excellent attendance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
