Maintenance Apprentice
About the role
Custom Control Sensors, LLC (CCS) is a global leader in the design, development, manufacturing and supply of pressure, temperature and liquid flow switches and sensors for the Aerospace, Defense and Industrial markets. As a Full-Time Non-Exempt position, the Maintenance Apprentice will provide day-to-day equipment and facility support for manufacturing, and/or associated facility/utilities mechanical support.
Responsibilities
- Assist with general plumbing repairs
- Assist with roofing repairs
- Assist with welding tasks
- Assist with electrician tasks
- Assist with air conditioning repairs and change filters
- Assist with minor forklift repairs
- Assist with sheet metal work
- Assist with carpentry tasks
- Assist with CNC Mill, Lathe, and multi-axis turning center repairs
- Learn Basic operations of CNC and robotic equipment
- Perform special projects as required
- May require operation of forklift or the driving of company vehicles
- Keep quality up to acceptable standards with little discrepant work
- Perform tasks equal to or exceeding established standards
Requirements
- Due to need to maintain ITAR compliance, applicants must be U.S citizen or legal permanent resident
- Moderate to proficient experience in general maintenance and repairs
- Moderate to proficient understanding of mechanics
- Ability to safely and proficiently assist with the utilization of a large variety of tooling, including specific tools designed for specific pieces of equipment
- Ability to react to changes productively and perform other essential tasks as assigned
- Working consistently, working overtime, and traveling as required
- Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the Company
- Conduct himself/herself in a business-like and civil manner
- Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English
- To work well with only a modest amount of repeated instructions
- Be team oriented and possess flexibility and adaptability
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to continuously stand, walk, use hands and fingers to flex and extend fingers with opposition of thumb-palmar grasp, carry, climb bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, turn, twist, push and pull. Talk or hear and move within the areas of the facilities and parking lots. Frequently required to climb ladders, stairs, and inclined surfaces. Occasionally required to sit, balance, and crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Six months or more of related experience
- U.S citizen or legal permanent resident due to ITAR compliance
