About the role
Plan, layout and perform diversified installation, maintenance and repair operations to maintain the physical plant, plant machinery, equipment and auxiliaries in proper operating condition.
Responsibilities
- Work involves mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and fluidic repairs and new construction operations requiring involvement with equipment and plant layout changes.
- Read and interpret layout and fabrication drawings for the replacement of shafts, spare parts, brackets and other additions for plant equipment.
- Work from drawings, sketches, machine operation and maintenance manuals, work requests, and oral instructions.
- Perform diversified and somewhat difficult work including analytical troubleshooting and complex maintenance functions.
- Use a variety of precision instruments and considerable judgment in diagnosing, dismantling, repairing, lubricating and reassembling units.
- Work on general and technical maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe fitting, and general machining for items requiring close tolerance.
- Rebuild and maintain primary roll forming, stamping, molding, and ancillary equipment throughout the plant.
- Periodically inspect conditions of plant operating machines and equipment for preventative maintenance purposes; detect faulty operations, diagnose malfunctions and provide remedy.
- Maintain specific records of work performed, details of repairs and material usage.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or in a similar role.
- Previous experience and ability to fabricate, repair, replace or properly install:
- Forming or guide rolls
- Shafts, bushings, sprockets and chains
- Guarding and related safety devices
- Power transmission components
- Ability to use measuring equipment.
- Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work with and interpret drawings and specifications.
Skills
- Extended experience with manual machining equipment required.
- Ability to read machine blueprints and assembly drawings.
- Ability to work well with others and provide project leadership on build and repair projects.
- Previous machine building experience a plus.

Schedule
Full-time, 3rd shift: Sunday - Thursday, 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM.
Location: Lancaster, PA.
