About the role

The Housekeeper at the Y is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the designated YMCA facility. This position supports the Y’s mission to promote health, safety, and community through various cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks including restrooms, locker rooms, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, trash removal, window cleaning, and floor maintenance.
• Maintain all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products; ensure safe and sanitary storage and care of products.
• Ensure proper supply levels are maintained and report any inventory or supply needs to the supervisor promptly.
• Interact positively and professionally with members and staff, supporting the Y’s mission.
• Report any maintenance issues or concerns to the supervisor immediately.
• Auxiliary in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Previous experience in commercial housekeeping required.
• Any Janitorial, Custodial, or Floor Maintenance certification preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 30 days of hire.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to move and lift 50-75 lbs.
• Willingness to climb a ladder.
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and bending.
