About the role

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the designated YMCA facility. This position supports the YMCA's mission to build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks including restrooms & locker rooms, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, trash removal, window cleaning, and floor maintenance.
• Maintain all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products; ensure safe and sanitary storage and care of products.
• In charge of vacuuming equipment; perform treatments such as shampoo or stain-removal as needed.
• Ensure proper supply levels are maintained and report needs to supervisor.
• Interact positively with members and staff, reporting any maintenance issues or concerns to supervisor.
• Auxiliary in special projects.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Previous experience in commercial housekeeping required.
• Any Janitorial, Custodial or Floor Maintenance certification preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 30 days of hire.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to move and lift 50-75 lbs.
• Willingness to climb a ladder.
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and bending.

Work Environment

• Noise level is usually moderate to noisy.
• May work outside and encounter inclement weather.
