About the Role
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, this Mid-Level position provides service repair and training for our automated material handling system, AS/RS, and similar systems. The primary objective is to ensure maximum availability of Material Handling Systems to warehouse operations while providing excellent customer service to the facility.
Responsibilities
- Participates in semi-complex equipment troubleshooting, investigative tests, repairs, and overhauls.
- Trains lower-level technicians on semi-complex maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
- Performs semi-complex maintenance on tools and test equipment, and maintains documentation of all inspections, maintenance, repair work, and failures.
- Responds to semi-complex service calls throughout the facility, including material handling automation.
- Assesses semi-complex equipment performance using CMMS/WMS data and recommends modifications or improvements.
- Performs semi-complex work within a highly technical area.
- Identifies and resolves complex problems effectively.
- Maintains exceptional preventive maintenance practices and schedule adherence using Web-Based CMMS.
- Works safely and follows OSHA rules.
- Maintains accurate reporting within the company CMMS.
- Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
- Performs routine plumbing repairs to ensure proper functioning of toilets, sinks, pipes, faucets, and water fountains.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of technical college or specialized training.
- Minimum five (5) years or more of related experience.
- Working experience with material handling equipment; service experience with Case Conveyor, Pallet Conveyor, and AS/RS is highly prized.
- Understanding of PLCs, electrical troubleshooting, and ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and secure performance of staff.
- Exceptional analytical skills.
