Responsibilities
- Performs and ensures the day-to-day cleanliness of the facility, including data center, customer area, office space and restrooms (including minor issues such as unstopping toilets or tightening toilet seats).
- Assists front-of-house office area requests, including, but not limited to, furniture moves, material movement, lighting (changing lightbulbs) and cleanliness.
- Maintains client cages on the data floor to include removal of data floor debris.
- Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken.
- Orders, tracks and restocks facility-related consumable items and parts ensuring performance at the lowest possible cost.
- Moves heavy items around with a cart, pallet jack or forklift.
- Performs project work or duties assigned by a supervisor, and continually monitors material processes for improvement.
- Accurately documents daily tasks and reports all findings.
- Cleans building floors and data floors by sweeping, mopping, hot mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
- Gathers and empties trash.
- Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms.
- Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
- Dusts furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Cleans windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Performs physical labor for various maintenance functions, including minor repairs, drywall repair and finish, painting, wall hangings, and stocking/organizing materials.
- Removes debris from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas.
- Sets up, arranges, and removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
- Safely mixes water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Steam-cleans or shampoos carpets.
- Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors.
- Cleans and restores building interiors using commercial cleaning equipment.
- Drives vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work, including vans, industrial trucks, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
- As time permits, assists the Mechanical and Electrical CFOps team members with day-to-day tasking such as filter replacement, Cooling Tower Yard cleaning, and any other basic tasks.
- Comply with all safety procedures and requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 6 months’ facility maintenance or custodian experience
- Hand and Machine tool experience required
- Basic computer and tablet aptitude
- Fire and Life/Safety training preferred
Skills
- Basic skill with MS Office products, tablets and Data Entry
- Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective communications skills, both written and oral
- Detailed oriented
- Operate Hand and Machine Tools
- Operate a forklift, can be trained within the company
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with verbal, visual, and listening skills
- Motor skills necessary to complete physical work and computer tasks
- Able to climb a ladder and work on a raised platform
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments
Work Conditions
- Typical office and data center work environment with varying temperatures and loud noises
- PPE required including sturdy work boots, hardhat, glasses, and a high visibility vest when performing certain tasks
- Regular daily usage of a computer or workstation.
- Work on site; no telecommuting.
Special Requirements
- Forklift Certification to be provided during employment.
- CPR/First Aid Certification to be provided during employment.
- Must wear close-toed shoes with a solid leather or composite sole.
- Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver’s license.
- Requires flexibility to work additional hours in evenings or weekends to meet business requirements or client needs.
Pay
Hourly base salary for this position is $24.23 - $34.62 and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance to local state and federal ‘Wage and Hour’ requirements.
