ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Affords assistance with the performance and productivity objectives of the Department and for the equipment in the facility.
  • Performs routine and emergency maintenance of plant equipment.
  • Troubleshoots electrical and or mechanical problems.
  • Completes project work as needed.
  • Maintains high performance levels and participates in the Preventive maintenance of all plant equipment.
  • Gathers information to maintain computerized PM program.
  • Supports Maintenance of facilities and equipment to meet MS, OSHA and U.S.D.A. standards.
  • Improves uptime of facilities through machine modification, adjustments, and machine Maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repairs machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Insure all record keeping is accomplished correctly so Maintenance records are accurate.
  • Works with maintenance department to maintain equipment in best mechanical operating condition.
  • Carrries out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with GMP's, HAACP, sanitation, process improvement, plant safety programs, and quality assurance.
  • Education and/or Experience: 2 years of experience with preventive maintenance systems in a manufacturing facility, ground beef experience preferred, industrial maintenance experience is preferred, basic Electrical experience/understanding is required, willingness to learn is essential, must be willing to share skills to help others develop and possess excellent communication skills, committed to providing a high level of detail and pride towards equipment maintenance, projects, general, High School Diploma or equivalent required, strong written verbal communication skills required, must be able to complete PM documentation paperwork accurately.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with employees and management.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve complex and practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and in situations where only limited experience may exist.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or lift.
  • Must have the ability to work in a refrigerated climate.
