Mainframe Database - W2 Only

Location: Plano, TX preferred — remote OK. W2 position.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe System Programmer with deep expertise in z/OS and ISV products. Candidates must have a strong background in SOX-compliant IMS administration (application DBA), TSO/ISPF, and DB2 administration. Avoid candidates with only development or mainframe operations experience.

Requirements

• 12+ years of professional work experience as a Mainframe System Programmer in z/OS and ISVs
• Expertise in performing SMP/E and non-SMP/E installation of ISV products
• Expertise in IBM and Broadcom software product installation and upgrades
• Mastery of DB2 and IMS database management and utilities
• Experience with DB2 V12 upgrades or later
• Experience with IMS V15.5 upgrades or later
• Fluent in JCL and IBM utilities (IEBGENER, IEBCOPY, AMASPZAP, DFDSS)
• Proficiency in ISPF/TSO and other foundational tools
• Basic knowledge of REXX and CLIST

Responsibilities

• Design project plans (upgrades, maintenance, decommissioning) with task lists for all stakeholders and communicate timelines to delivery teams and customers
• Formulate roadmaps with all prerequisites to ensure project completion
