About the role
This is a 6-month remote contract position for a Mainframe CICS System Administrator.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct technical support as a subject matter expert in the planning, coordination, installation, implementation, and testing of releases, upgrades, or changes to CICS and related ISV products.
- Upgrade, install, and migrate CICS Transaction Servers.
- Diagnose CICS system and related product issues, performing root cause analysis.
- Upgrade, install, and support IBM and ISV-related products.
- Participate in on-call rotation with engineering teams.
- Follow projects through to completion, either independently or as part of a larger team.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in CICS systems programming.
- Basic knowledge of the following technologies: z/OS, Unix System Services, SMP/E, REXX, Java, VSAM, and third-party products.
- Experience with CICS Transaction Server and related ISV products.
- Proficiency in P2V, V2V, and P2P migrations.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or equivalent work experience.
- Banking or financial services industry experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of Assembler, COBOL, CICS, and DB2 (preferred).
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
