Main OR Surgical Technician

About the role

The McNair OR Surgical Technician at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center will assist the surgical team in preparing the operating room and performing various surgical procedures. Key responsibilities include setting up equipment, assisting with surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and passing necessary supplies.

Responsibilities

• Aids in the scrubbing role according to prescribed standards and licensure.
• Maintains the sterile field and reports any breaches in aseptic technique immediately.
• Passes instruments, suture products, medications, and sponge materials to the surgeon.
• Holds retracting instruments as directed by the surgeon and assists with suctioning.
• Applies electrosurgical current as directed by the surgeon.
• Performs surgical counts with the Registered Nurse according to policy and procedure.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of surgical experience, or
• Certified Surgical Technologist, or
• Technologist in Surgery-Certified, or
• Basic Life Support - CPR certification, within 14 days of hire.

$30.91 - $45.98 /hour

Schedule

Full Time, 80 hours per pay period, Day shift, No remote work.
