Mail Services Associate

Duties and Responsibilities
- Process incoming and outgoing mail and packages including sorting, scanning, locker reservation, locker loading, and processing of letter and flat mail to HD mail system.
- Operate and understand functionality of tracking system as it pertains to internal processes and procedures to effectively facilitate package processing and chain of custody.
- Understand and maintain knowledge of internal procedures related to mail and package processing.
- Receive packages from carriers using a handheld scanner.
- Perform additional duties and assist with projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Formal Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Specific Job Knowledge: 2-5 years in fast paced customer service environment.
- Work Skills: Must be organized and detail-oriented with good customer service skills and a positive, friendly approach and demeanor. Must be able to accept and complete directives effectively in a timely fashion.
- Equipment Knowledge: Knowledge of email, basic pc, and knowledge of operation and functionality of scanning system and related hardware.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
- Sitting at a computer for extended periods scanning packages.
- Walking while carrying mail and packages, pushing hand truck and postal hamper loaded with packages.
- Extended periods of standing and sitting.
- Lift capacity 30lbs alone, 50lbs with 2-person lift.

The Mail Services Associate processes incoming and outgoing student mail and packages and performs related processes utilizing package tracking software according to university procedures. The individual in this position must understand and operate the package tracking system and assure 100% chain of custody regarding package handling.
Salary Posting Information
This position falls within hourly grade 10 and the range is $22.58-23.85/hr. The final salary will be determined with consideration of several factors including the selected candidate’s qualifications, department budget availability, market data, and internal equity.
