About the role
USPS CDS Rural Mail Carrier position available in the Cairo, NY area. Applicants must be at least 19 years old, have a valid New York driver's license, be able to lift 70 lbs, work in all weather conditions, and reside in the area.
Responsibilities
- Sorting mail in delivery sequence for 537 active boxes
- Loading mail and parcels in delivery sequence into delivery vehicle
- D delivering mail along an assigned 33.7-mile line-of-travel
- Dismounting if required to deliver parcels, Express mail, and other accountable mail items
- Performing other administrative duties as required
Requirements
- Able to lift 70 lbs
- Able to work in all types of weather conditions
- Reside in the Cairo, NY area
Qualifications
- Valid New York driver's license
- At least 19 years of age
Skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Knowledge of USPS regulations

- Vehicle reimbursement paid on top of hourly pay
- Health & Welfare benefits paid as cash equivalency up to the maximum of 40 hours per week per the DoL Wage Determination under the Service Contract Act
- Rate of Pay and cash equivalent benefits exceed the requirements set by the Department of Labor

- $25.24/hour PLUS vehicle reimbursement
Schedule
- Day Shift - Part time - generally, one day per week
- 11:44am – 5:17pm (End times will vary based on completion of all mail and parcel delivery)
