About the Role

The MAHI Evening Receptionist will greet and direct Irving ISD and community members as they enter the Magda A Hernández Institute of Wellness and Professional Learning. This part-time receptionist will provide excellent customer service, administrative support, and promote a positive wellbeing culture.

Qualifications

  • Educational Aide 1 Paraprofessional Certificate or High School Diploma
  • Excellent communication, verbal, and writing skills in English (Spanish preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Word)
  • At least 1+ years of customer service experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform receptionist/clerical duties in the office as assigned
  • Assist in the set-up of the monthly MAHI Social Hour events
  • Liaise with district staff and community members for the registration of fitness classes
  • Provide security and control to the front door area of the MAHI building
  • Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly work environment
  • Follow and report any safety concerns
  • Assist in the maintenance of program records and preparation of reports as required
  • Assist in the inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment as assigned
  • Assist in preparing equipment for fitness classes
  • Participate in faculty meetings and special events as required
  • Perform other reasonable work assignments as directed by the Executive Director
  • Maintain confidentiality of information

Schedule

Monday through Thursday, approximately 20 hours per week.

Working Conditions

  • Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress. Work within tight deadlines.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to carry 30 lbs. Frequent in-district and occasional in-state travel. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
  • Safety: Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner. Observe all safety precautions and guidelines. Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by reporting incidents immediately to supervisor.
