Magnolia - Warehouse Shipping Clerk

About the role

This position is located at the Magnolia Finishing Plant in Blacksburg, SC and will report to the Warehouse Manager. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordination, organization and execution of the office related shipping activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare orders for shipment
• Determine method of shipment by utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures and routes (as instructed by customer service)
• Keep and verify records on incoming and outgoing shipments
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials as well as supplies
• Understand the shipping process and provide ideas and training for team members
• Contact carriers and schedule shipments and loading appointments for each order
• Process orders based on the customers preferred shipping system (UPS, FEDEX, etc.)
• Contribute to maintaining strong customer relationships – customer service, trucking companies, and others
• Coordinate shipping priorities daily
• Print labels/picking list for all orders and ensure team is aware of all special instructions
• Complete goods movement transactions in SAP
• Manage return goods to plants (STOs, B/Ls, etc.)
• Other items as assigned by the manager

• Keep the warehouse on track daily with receiving requirements
• Be a leader and example in the area of SAP knowledge and use for all warehouse applications
• Understand basic computer skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint for making and maintaining charts, data, and communications to the warehouse
• Be a force for positive attitudes
• Offer suggestions and execute activities that will make the warehouse better
• Willingly accept new roles and activities as assigned and created
• Utilize time effectively and productively to maximize output on a daily basis
• Ability to operate forklift/tugger and retrieve rolls to be put on orders

Qualifications

• Preferred SAP experience
• Shipping and receiving knowledge
• Microsoft Office proficiency
