Responsibilities

• Perform Cardiac MRI protocols.
• Attain and maintain competence in performing high-quality cardiac MRI done independently, including but not limited to Cardiac MRI obtained for infarction, valve disease, and structural abnormalities.
• Perform Breast MRI Biopsies.
• Affords assistance in the maintenance of department inventory by ordering, stocking, and performing inventory checks on those medical supplies utilized when performing general radiographic examinations.
• Effectively interacts with Denver Health’s PACS system through compliance with data entry, image post-processing, image archiving tasks, image quality assurance, and other related user interface activities.
• Prepares and administers contrast media for patient examinations according to radiologists’ direction.
• Screens patients, Denver Health employees, and, visitors in order to guard the safety of: (1) those individuals undergoing an MRI examination; or (2) persons entering the MRI service venue.
• Verifies the physician order and relevant patient’s history in Epic.
• To provide the necessary data for radiologists to interpret images, the technologist scans all relevant clinical information into the PACS, assigns prioritization box for the radiologists’ worklist, and then transmits current (and comparison images, when applicable) to the PACS.
• Maintains imaging equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests; results of all cleanings and tests are documented, as appropriate.
• Contacts service personnel and notifies supervisory staff of equipment malfunctions.
• Assists in the maintenance of department inventory by ordering, stocking, and performing inventory checks on those medical supplies utilized when performing MRI examinations.
• Ensures patient safety, comfort, and personal dignity by following appropriate patient care guidelines to include use of 2 patient identifiers.
• Transports patients to and from the Department of Radiology, as needed, to prevent patient flow delays.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree Required
• Work Experience: 1-3 years of professional work experience in performing radiographic procedures, including 2 years of experience in undertaking MRI imaging studies.

Skills

Demonstrated knowledge in how to operate MRI equipment and related technology.
Knowledge of how to address age-specific care needs of patients.
Demonstrated technical skill sets in the performance of MRI studies.
Demonstrable interpersonal skill sets that lead to effective communication and collaborations.
Competency in interpreting physician order requests for MRI imaging studies.
Ability to exercise prudent judgment in selecting and configuring equipment settings to compensate for patient physiologic variances.
Ability to consistently produce quality images of various anatomical structures.

$37.30 - $55.95 / hr
