Magento 2 Developer

Responsibilities

• Building and configuring Magento 2x eCommerce websites.
• Coding of the Magento templates.
• Developing Magento modules in PHP using best practices.
• Updating website features and security patches.
• Sets performance tasks and goals.
• Project Management involving non-magento-based application development.
• Troubleshooting integration issues.
• Architect and develop custom applications.
• Work collaboratively with other technical personnel, including external vendor teams.
• Provide support for a variety of technical issues.
• Migrate product/customer/order data between applications.
• Securely integrate with 3rd party applications/tools.
• Analyse, design, code, debug, test, document & deploy applications.
• Participate in project & deployment planning.
• Must be a self-starter & be able to work with minimum supervision.
• Participate in client calls with our internal team.
• Plan, control and take corrective action items on overall development.
• Suggest and implement development process improvements.

Requirements

• Expert understanding of Magento's code structure, extension architecture, theming hierarchy, and fallback components.
• Expertise in authoring and extending Magento extensions.
• Thorough experience in customising Magento's front-end components using layout XML, blocks, and templates.
• Thorough knowledge of vanilla Magento feature set and configuration.
• Competent knowledge of e-commerce data organisation and relationships.
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
• User authentication and authorisation between multiple systems, servers, and environments.
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system.
• Familiarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds.
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Advanced knowledge of Magento, JavaScript, HTML, PHP, CSS, and MySQL.
• Understanding of modern UI/UX trends.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to project-manage and work to strict deadlines.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Conceptual knowledge of WordPress technology is an added advantage for project management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• UG: BCA or Bachelor of Engineering (preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology)
• PG: MCA or Similar
