Machinist Trainee

Job Summary

Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer, seeks a Machinist Trainee for their 2nd shift position. This entry-level role focuses on training and assisting operators. Key responsibilities include operating saws, delivering materials, using lift devices, maintaining cleanliness, conducting in-process inspections, and entering work order data.

Primary Responsibilities

• Operates saws and delivers material to operators as needed.
• Operates lift devices such as chain hoists, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
• Keeps the material area clean and assists with cycle count needs.
• Conducts in-process inspections.
• Prepares/enters/completes work order reporting, transactions, documentation, and non-conformances in applicable software and computer systems.
• Adheres to safety practices, 6S, and follows Fike policies and ISO9001.
• Must pass the forklift certificate within 6 months of hire.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and follow instructions, work orders, and engineered drawings
• Exposure to hand tools and measuring tools (calipers and gauges)
• Basic math and computer skills
• PREFERRED: Mechanical exposure or Vo-Tech training

Compensation

This position starts at $21/hr and is based on the candidate's experience. Regular and consistent attendance is required.
