The Opportunity
Williams International offers an exciting opportunity for Machinist Technician Interns to join our team. Interns will complete the CNC Machine Operator program within 4-6 months of start date under supervision of the Manufacturing Team Leader/Mentor. The program focuses on familiarizing with machines/processes including gaging and controller operation, deburr/part finishing, and basic blue-print reading. After 6 months, interns will be eligible for full-time employment as Machinist Technicians, with further training on CNC lathes, CNC mills, changeovers, and setups, leading to a CNC Machinist position after 2 years.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous exposure to a machining curriculum, such as High School or Community College Machining Curriculum
- Familiarity with CNC setup and operation is a strong plus, but not required
- Solid mechanical aptitude and basic math skills
- Physical lifting requirements include: ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, a grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches)
