About the role
The Senior Experimental Machinist performs highly skilled precision work in the design, development, machining, fabrication, assembly, and testing of a wide variety of scientific instruments and experimental equipment. They interact with scientists, engineers, and students as required by the supervisor on issues related to these tasks. They collaborate with a team of co-workers in a state-of-the-art facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform highly skilled precision work in the design, development, machining, fabrication, assembly, and testing of a wide variety of scientific instruments and experimental equipment.
- Interact with scientists, engineers, and students as required by the supervisor on issues related to these tasks.
- Collaborate with a team of co-workers in a state-of-the-art facility.
Requirements
- Vocational/technical training
- Excellent knowledge of Computer Numeric Control (CNC) and conventional machining techniques
- CNC programming in Mastercam
- A plus if knows SolidWorks for design, tooling equipment and machining standards
- Five to eight years of experience minimum
