About the role
Set up, adjust and operate pullbores to machine a variety of diameter parts and tubes to close tolerances. Recognize machining problems by sound, off-standard or unusual cutting conditions and adjust accordingly. Perform test cuts to ensure that the job is setup correctly.
Responsibilities
- Work from blueprints, routings, process sheets, etc., to maintain specified tolerances and insure concentricity, checking own work with precision measuring devices.
- Select, prepare and install respective tooling (including calculation of head size, grinding of heads) including bars, bushings, packing and spring assembly.
- Adjust speeds, feeds, tooling and operational sequences as needed to resolve machining problems and to meet production standards.
- Complete inspection and required documentation.
- Initiate process change and adjustment requests and maintain accurate records of operations including Statistical Process Control charting.
- Work with other work group members to assist in development of special tooling and problem solving.
- Operate multiple machines simultaneously as needed to meet production schedules.
- Assist new employees.
Requirements
- General knowledge of machining practices.
- Knowledge of shop math and able to work from blueprints and specifications.
- Experience with a variety of precision measuring instruments.
- Familiar with use of crane and other lifting devices.
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Pay
$21.86 - $32.81 per hour
