Pay
- Level 1: Estimated base pay $21.15–$27.40 plus shift differential & overtime
- Level 2: Estimated base pay $24.04–$31.25 plus shift differential & overtime

Schedule
- Weekends 2nd shift: Friday–Sunday, 3:00 PM–3:30 AM
- Mandatory training for first 2 weeks: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Training starting week 3: 1st shift, Monday–Thursday, 4:30 AM–3:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Perform basic setup and operate multiple CNC or manual (lathes/milling/Swiss/grinding-OD/ID) machines to produce precision metal parts. Perform supporting operations (e.g., manual material removal, sub-assembly) while following established procedures. Perform 1st piece inspections and may train in these processes.
- Process Adherence: Follow detailed work instructions to maintain production efficiency and accuracy. Interpret engineering blueprints and apply basic GD&T knowledge.
- Quality Control: Use various gages to inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards. Record and maintain data per operating standards (SOP).
- Organization & Cleanliness: Proactively apply 5S principles, identify opportunities to improve workstation organization and cleanliness, and ensure compliance with team standards. Assist in implementing new organizational practices as directed.
- Safety Mindset: Encourage adherence to safety protocols within the team.
Skills
- Technical Operation: Skilled in operating multiple CNC or manual machining equipment such as lathes, mills, Swiss, and OD/ID grinders. Proficient in supporting operations.
- Critical Thinking: Identify gap-to-standard and resolve or escalate per standard processes/procedures. Analyze problems, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions with minimal supervision.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Solid understanding of mechanical systems and components. Ability to use inspection gaging and hand/power tools.
- Team Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to support workflow and escalate immediate issues. Demonstrate Woodward's core values.
- Time Management: Proactively prioritize time to complete assigned tasks within established schedules. Drive to maintain efficiency standards.
- Lean Mindset: Follow lean practices such as 5S and waste reduction. Participate in continuous improvement activities. Identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements.

Requirements
- Moderate physical activity requiring agility and dexterity, including walking, standing, or bending; and lifting or moving objects.
- Work is performed in an area with moderate risk or discomfort that may require special safety precautions, such as wearing protective clothing or gear.
- May be required to pass near vision and/or color vision examinations.
- Previous CNC machine experience
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Basic computer skills (email, data entry, etc.)
- Knowledge and ability to read and interpret blueprints & GD&T
- Previous inspection experience
- This position requires use of information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR and EAR, or eligible to obtain all required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce.
