Machinist - Level 3
About the role
As a Machinist Level 3 at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in precision machining operations, ensuring the production of high-quality components that meet exact specifications. You will utilize your advanced machining skills to operate and program complex machinery, troubleshoot issues, and maintain optimal workflow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will report directly to the Production Supervisor and work out of the Boyne City, MI location on an on-site schedule. In this role, you will impact product quality and manufacturing efficiency, contributing directly to Honeywell’s commitment to delivering reliable and innovative solutions to customers.
Responsibilities
- Operate and program CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and work instruction specifications
- Perform setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting of machining equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality output
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards
- Maintain accurate production records and report any issues or deviations to supervisors promptly
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- 5+ years of experience with setups, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC Mills and/or Lathes in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate production
- Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part quality
- Familiarity with machine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain productivity
WE VALUE
- College degree or technical certification in machining or manufacturing technology
- Experience operating or programming a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
- Knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing production priorities
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
