Machinist Intern

Responsibilities
- Operate assigned machines within department.
- Learn simple setups and troubleshooting while supervised by skilled Graco full-time machinists.
- Check parts with hard gauging and CMM.
- Perform periodic quality checks as described in operation layouts.
- Package, wash, and deburr as described in operation layouts or otherwise directed by full-time Graco Machinist, Engineer, or Supervisor.
- Keep a clean and organized work area.
- Responsible for the quality of the parts they produce and follow all necessary inspection requirements.
- Work as a team member to aid all shifts and support co-workers to operate to department expectations.
- Focus on safety and follow all safety rules and requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Students must be enrolled in a two year Machine Tool Technology degree.
- Shift is flexible and can be changed to accommodate current courses/schedule.
- Student must be in good standing with the school if enrolled, maintaining a C average or better.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Comply with all safety rules and requirements.
Physical Requirements
In an 8-hour workday, “occasionally” means 1 to 33%, “frequently” means 34 to 66% of the time, and “continuous” means 67 to 100% of the time.
- Must be able to sit 1 hour, stand 3 hours, and walk 4 hours.
- Position requires frequent bending and stooping, occasional use of fixed or portable stairs, crouching and kneeling and reaching above the shoulder.
- Must occasionally lift and load up to 45 lbs or greater.
- Requires frequent repetitive elbow movements and simple grasping with both hands and occasional firm grasping and fine manipulation with both hands.
Responsibilities
- Work on current work orders (CNC Machines, test benches, assembly fixtures, automation equipment).
- Train alongside current maintenance employees to develop experience.
- Search for parts/tech bulletins/purchase parts.
- Help organize and clean maintenance storage areas.
- Follow all required safety guidelines and utilize the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Pay
The base pay range for this position is $21.00 – $28.00 per hour, exclusive of fringe benefits or other compensation. If hired, your final base hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, competencies, education, and/or experience, as well as internal equity of current employees.
