About the role
This position is responsible for the manufacturing of new fixtures and the maintenance and repair of welding, machining, and assembling fixtures. The Team Member will also provide technical support to the Manufacturing Team.
Responsibilities
- Sets up and operates all tooling machinery in a safe and proficient manner.
- Analyzes manufacturing and tooling problems, formulates solutions.
- Checks fabricated tools against established tolerances.
- Fabricates parts as assigned.
- Drafts fixtures built.
- Documents the fixtures built.
- Checks all parts built to established tolerances.
- Delivers completed tool to manufacturing team and trains team members on its use.
- Utilizes applicable shop measuring equipment.
- Maintains and repairs existing production fixtures.
- Carry out ECNs pertaining to fixture modifications.
Requirements
- 5 Years experience of Manufacturing Machining.
- Thorough knowledge and ability to set up and operate all machine shop machinery incl. saws, milling machines (manual and CNC), drill press, lathes (manual and CNC), hydraulic press, belt sanders, grinders, and hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret complex part drawings as well as assembly and kit drawings.
- Good knowledge of shop math.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools incl. calipers, micrometers (inside and outside), gauges, height gauges.
- Basic knowledge of tool design and production and the skill to establish sequential steps to the use of the tool.
- Basic understanding of welding techniques and processes.
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems incl. use of flaring tools, crimpers, radius benders, tubing types and wall thickness, fittings, cylinders, actuators, manifolds valves.
- Optical measuring equipment and Faro Arm precision measuring system.
- Assemble fixtures, hydraulics, pneumatic, and electrical systems with minimal assistance.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of manufacturing techniques, materials, tooling machining techniques and practices.
- Basic knowledge of tool design and production and the skill to establish sequential steps to the use of the tool.
- Basic understanding of assembly process, including dowel pins, drill bushings, various fasteners, and hand tools.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
