Machinist II

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to follow safety and machine standard work.
• Setup of equipment through first piece inspection including tooling and material changes.
• Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
• Handling of raw materials and finished goods.
• Communication with co-workers, team leads, inspectors, and management.
• Measures, examines, and inspects completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.

Qualifications

• Performs work under direct supervision.
• Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
• Maintains mathematical skills.
• Has gaging knowledge and technical expertise.
• Displays manual dexterity.
• Shows physical stamina.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
