Responsibilities

• Work from drawings and/or written instructions, set up and operate a variety of manual or CNC machinery and equipment to produce precision parts.
• Skilled in at least one work center and performs specific machinist functions.
• May have ability to set up and troubleshoot machines within work center.
• Ability to prove out and set up proven programs for production.
• Provides instruction and training to employees in other positions within the Machine Shop.
• Verifies conformance of finished work to ensure compliance to tolerance and company specifications.
• Identifies dull or worn inserts or tools and makes changes as necessary.
• Makes tool offsets as required.
• Completes preventative maintenance as required.
• Regularly uses microscope and other high end measuring equipment to view and inspect parts.
• Performs other related duties as directed.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate; or GED
  BOCES Machine Shop classes; or Skilled trade school graduate
• 1 year of machine shop experience
• Basic Shop math skills
• Basic Blueprint reading skills
• General Knowledge and demonstrated experience of CNC/ Manual machines

Preferred Experience

• 4 years of machine shop experience
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
• Demonstrated experience in order of operations
• Inspection measuring equipment knowledge
