About the role
dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6:00AM-2:30PM) Machinist II based in Indianapolis, IN. The Machinist II is responsible for performing machine setups, tool changes, and adjusting as necessary. This position may provide training to lower-level machinists.
What You Will Do
- Follow operation instructions; operate machine according to standard operating instructions
- Operate machine(s) safely and communicate any problems which arise to the supervisor/lead person
- Perform machine setups, tool changes, and make adjustments as necessary
- Monitor, maintain, weigh, and safely add chemicals as required
- Perform minor troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of the equipment
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Extensive experience operating and setting up machines, performing tool changes, etc.
- Ability to perform advanced quality inspections and read/interpret blueprints
- Professional communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
- SAP or Enterprise system knowledge
- An understanding in the application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and similar quality control concepts
- Experience operating a forktruck
- Computer proficiency and lean skills
- Documented manufacturing education/training
- Understanding of shop math

Pay & Schedule
- Hourly hiring range: $24/hr. - $35/hr.
- First shift: 6:00AM-2:30PM
- Overtime may be mandatory as needed
- $2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview)
