About the role
This is an immediate opening within a small, hands-on machine shop. You'll work alongside an experienced supervisor and team producing precision components used in pump manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC and/or manual lathes and mills
- Edit machine programs and make necessary tooling/offset adjustments
- Machine precision components to engineering specifications
- Inspect completed parts to ensure accuracy and quality
- Read blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T
- Troubleshoot machining and quality issues
- Auxiliary with fixtures, tooling, and process improvements
- Perform routine equipment maintenance
- Maintain safety, quality, and 5S standards
Requirements
- 4-year Certified Apprenticeship + 2 years of setup experience OR 5+ years of machining setup/operating experience
- Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC and/or manual lathes or mills
- Ability to perform machine setups with minimal supervision
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring tools
- Ability to adjust tooling and work-piece offsets to maintain accuracy
- Strong machining fundamentals, mechanical aptitude, and attention to quality
- Basic computer and math skills
- Experience with both lathes and mills is preferred, but not required
