About the Role

This Machinist position performs all aspects necessary for the machining processes used in the manufacturing of components.

Location: Stuart, FL. On-Site. Monday to Friday, 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM (10% Shift Differential).

Responsibilities

  • Operate Manual or CNC equipment to produce components as outlined in the methods and process sheets
  • Change, set, and adjust precision tools as required
  • Load and delete programs in the computer
  • Learn the machinability of metals
  • Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude
  • Check parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures to ensure dimensions are maintained
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and report improper machine function
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area
  • Follow all applicable safety rules and precautions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the machinability of metals, with a good mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge and ability to use machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Knowledge of shop geometry and trigonometry
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Good math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Working Conditions

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and have the ability to hear
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or crouch
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, at times up to 50 pounds
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, acetone, alcohol, argon, braze alloys, nitrogen, hydrogen, oil-based lubricants and cleaning solutions
  • Occasionally exposed to moderate cold and extreme heat
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
